City of Covington - Street Maintenance
Ballot measure coming in August - One source of income from Covington for streets which is roughly $380K in fuel tax
Additional sales tax would be $18 a year for residents
But $1.3 million from people that comes to Covington will help pay for our streets
They would repeal the car tab tax, and the sales tax would not go into effect until that repeal
Counsel, would immediately repeal the car tab tax, if the tax is passed. Should take about a month
Would this be for retail goods and services?
All taxable items, which includes services. Does not include most food.
Services are normally taxed where the services are provided
Update the zip code +4 digit doesn't always say Covington and we are charged Kent Sales tax
Where is the additional general funds from the sales tax
Council will decide where the additional funds after the tax measure is passed

A new maintenance company was selected
Getting a left hand turn lane at the exit of Covington

The current owners would have to make a proposal to the City and the City would have to evaluate
For the underpass tunnel on 204th, is there a plan to install CCTV and/or a blue light emergency phone?
Camera system called Flock, installing them at all the entrances of Covington
New Aquatic Center
Counsel has been voted to leave the current location
Have been working with a consultant
Estimate cost of $87 million
Identified a design of for 1-story, and 2-story

King Country Bus Route doesn't currently have capacity

Debby is going to talk to our Chamber of Commerce
